Indicator total biomass Pan Trap Monitoring of Bee Communities

The total biomass of arthropods recorded using pan traps represents an estimate of the activity density of flower-visiting insects at an agricultural site. This indicator thus indirectly reflects the potential pollination performance of insects. The total biomass is determined using portable scales. Recording local flowering areas and using multiple sets of pan traps at the site are important to assess potential biases in the determined biomass.
